1. Parties
- The Minor: the child whose full name and date of birth are recorded in the family profile of the Veras Academy account.
- The Parent: the person signing this document, who declares to hold parental authority over the Minor (parent or legal guardian) and to be the holder of the Veras Academy account to which the Minor is attached.
- The Academy: Veras Academy, Luxembourg (Luxembourg Gare and Strassen), operator of the website and the membership service.
2. Purpose of the consent
The Parent authorises the Minor, aged 13 to 16, to use their own login to the Veras Academy account in order to:
- book and cancel classes within the rules of the academy;
- check in at the academy with the QR code;
- view their attendance, their level and their training profile.
Memberships, payments, invoices and the family profile remain managed exclusively by the Parent. The Minor cannot buy, change or cancel a membership, nor order from the store.
3. Parental authority
The Parent declares that they hold parental authority over the Minor and that, where this authority is shared, the other holder has been informed of this consent and does not object to it. Towards the Academy, the signing Parent is presumed to act with the agreement of the other holder for the everyday acts covered by this document.
4. Responsibility and safety
The Parent remains responsible for the Minor's participation in the activities of the Academy. In particular, the Parent:
- confirms that the Minor is fit to practise martial arts and undertakes to inform the Academy of any medical condition, injury or treatment relevant to safety;
- keeps an emergency telephone number up to date in the family profile;
- undertakes that the Minor follows the safety rules of the Academy, the instructions of the coaches and the booking rules (punctuality, cancellation in advance, respect of the level of each class).
The Academy may suspend the self-managed access at any time for safety or disciplinary reasons and informs the Parent of it. This document does not limit the legal liability of the Academy for its own faults.
5. Personal data
The Academy processes the Minor's name, date of birth, profile photo, bookings, attendance and training level in order to run the academy and the membership (performance of the contract), and keeps this consent record to prove the authorisation (legal obligation).
Under Luxembourg law, a minor below 16 cannot consent alone to the processing of their personal data by an online service: this document is the consent of the holder of parental authority for the Minor's use of the online account.
The Parent and the Minor may access, correct or delete these data and may object to or restrict their processing by writing to the Academy. They may lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD). The full details are in the Privacy Policy published on the website.
6. Duration and withdrawal
This consent takes effect once the Academy has validated it and applies until the Minor turns 17. On that date the account becomes a separate, independent member account; the Parent's access to it ends unless the Minor invites the Parent again.
The Parent may withdraw this consent at any time by writing to the Academy. Withdrawal ends the self-managed access without affecting what was done before it.
7. Electronic signature
By typing their full name and ticking "I sign electronically", the Parent signs this document electronically. This simple electronic signature has legal effect and may be used as evidence; the Academy records the signed name, the date, the version of the document and, where provided, the signed copy. The consent takes effect only after the Academy has validated it.
8. Applicable law
This document is governed by Luxembourg law. The courts of Luxembourg are competent, without prejudice to the rights of consumers under their own national law.
